2.3 Turbo Mustang Update

I keep changing the name of this project. Get used to it.

So ive been hording little parts and bits of things i find in the street and in backyards to help out my little 4 banger.

I had acquired.

Front mount intercooler from a dead volvo 740.
A radiator with low profile electric fan from a ranger.
Some 2.5 inch rusty pipe and silicone connectors.
($65) for All

A very nice shielded positive battery cable (like new) from a recall on a rear mounted battery BMW. AND a very nice and new shielded neg. battery cable from a BMW (it has a switch and is used to turn everything off during transit. Both free

All this “junk” allowed me to move my battery to the rear of the stang. Its in a $7 dollar wal mart battery box for a boat. It slides around but I will get that nailed down as soon as i find my hammer.

I removed my old radiator and replaced it with the ranger radiator. Why? The ranger radiator is not as wide, which would allow the volvo Ic Connections to poke out around the ends. And it has a narrower fan, which allows more room in front of the radiator for the intercooler to sit.

I picked up a few bits of rubber from home depot and had it all hooked up (minus the bypass valve)

Anyway, i took it for a cruise last night, everything seems to be holding together for now. It doesn’t spool up as fast, but when the turbo kicks in, it seems to want to boost hard and keep boosting for as long as I want to hold down the pedal. I was worried about blowing something apart with out the bypass valve on… so I headed home. (I thought I could hear a slight hiss from up front)

So next i need to find an easy way to add some 1 inch connections to my IC pipe (for the bypass). All suggestions welcomed.

Black Galaxy – A Soul Sucking Evil Thing

In my mind there a few cars out there that conjure up thoughts of destruction, madness and evil. The kinds of cars I want to drive.
I cant explain it really, you just feel evil radiation from them.
They are in most cases black, they are fast for sure but fast is relative of course.

The GN and GNX make the list.
The new challenger drag car is making its case.
Im partial to the charger from blade and Bullit.

The era they crawled out of gives us some clue as to what lurks underneath, but be careful before you judge any book by its cover.
